Praise from Dick Valnes

Chaplain Dick Valnes shared this “praise” with us recently. He and his wife, Caroline, serve with NHM in Eugene, Oregon.

“Valley West Health Care Center has opened their door to NHM in an extraordinary way. For example, their activity director, Star, called us before our last meeting and said that the parking lot was full and she would be coming out to move her car so we would have a place to park! Activity directors like Star are priceless, especially the “selfless kind,” as she is. The meeting that then took place had an assistant to Star bringing in the residents in their wheelchairs or other devices to transport them. Her name is Angela and she has a love for the people that is beyond explanation! We are being ‘shown how to show LOVE to people.’ We are learning things that are so refreshing and unusually beautiful! We have gone to many other facilities over the last 25+ years, but this facility has demonstrated to us the most awesome warmth and example in serving the residents as we are allowed to bring the Lord Jesus Christ’s good news!”
